How will governor replace Obama?

Illinois politics could have an outstanding moment. Emil Jones is retiring (three cheers). Will the Democrats select a new Senate Leader who is qualified without color preference, and one that is for the people and not a crony of Gov. Rod Blagojevich? Will Gov. Blagojevich and President-elect Barack Obama select a replacement senator without color preference, not of the "old school" Illinois politics, or will it be business as usual instead of change?

Yes, I know the governor appoints the replacement, but I also know Illinois politics.
