Frisk Sleighbell Classic tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale for the Bob Frisk Sleighbell Classic boys basketball game between Buffalo Grove and Palatine at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Christian Liberty's Grace Gym in Arlington Heights.

Tickets can be purchased at Buffalo Grove, Palatine or Christian Liberty, by calling (847) 253-4391 or by e-mail to sleighbellclassic2008@arlingtoncards.com or take_five@comcast.net. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students and BG and Palatine students can pick up tickets in their athletic offices for free with a current student ID card.

The game has been moved to historic Grace Gym at Christian Liberty, the former home of Arlington High School, to honor Frisk, a 1954 Arlington graduate who is retiring after 50 years of covering high school sports for the Daily Herald.

The original Sleigh Bell Classic was an annual game between rivals Arlington and Palatine with a traveling trophy at stake. It started in the early 1940s and continued until Arlington closed in 1984.
