EMG sues Apple over iPhone

TYLER, Texas _ EMG Technology, LLC is accusing Apple Inc. in federal court in Tyler of patent infringement involving the iPhone.

The lawsuit by the California technology company alleges Apple infringed on a patent that involves the way the iPhone navigates the Internet.

EMG filed the lawsuit Monday in federal court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Apple spokeswoman Susan Lundgren did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment.

The lawsuit says the patent for the "apparatus and method of manipulating a region on a wireless device screen for viewing, zooming and scrolling Internet content" was issued on Oct. 21 to three inventors. All of them signed all the rights to the patent over to EMG on Nov. 19, the Tyler Morning Telegraph reported.
