Zonta thanks those who volunteered

The women of the Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia and Zonta West-Illinois held their annual fundraising auction, "Helping Women Bloom," Oct. 29 at Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago where they raised more than $20,000!

The evening featured live and silent auction items with more than 100 wonderful gift baskets as well as a sit down dinner and a $500 cash raffle. The 115 guests were treated to the wonderful auctioneering style of Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns. He was later joined by St. Charles Mayor Don DeWitte and Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke as each auctioned a basket they had donated to the club from their respective cities. The ladies of Zonta wish to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Mayors DeWitte, Schielke and Burns for their enthusiastic participation and support.

Thank you so much also to our sponsors, guests and fellow Zontians. Proceeds from this event enable Zonta to provide scholarships to women and girls in the Fox Valley Community and to support local service organizations. For details about Zonta, call Bobbie Gerbrecht, president, at (630) 248-9949 or visit www.zonta-stcharles-geneva-batavia.org and the International Organization at www.zonta.org.
