Rotary's 50/50 raffle tickets still available

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership and St. Charles Noon Rotary have announced that tickets for the "50/50 Noon Rotary Raffle" will be available at the Arcada Theatre after the free showing of the movie "The Polar Express."

The movie begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. It is part of the "Holiday Homecoming" events on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28-29. Raffle tickets are currently available for purchase from Noon Rotary members.

The sale of raffle tickets for the "50/50 Noon Rotary Raffle" benefit St. Charles High School college scholarship winners, Lazarus House, and Juna Amagara, a Ministry of Hope for HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa. With previous help from the St. Charles Rotary and others, the ministry has built a school for those orphans. Raffle tickets are $10 or three for $25.

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership's Holiday Homecoming events include the Lighting of the Lights at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, in Lincoln Park, Fourth and Main streets; and the Electric Christmas Parade, which steps off at Sixth and Main at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. The drawing for the raffle will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30. Santa will draw the winning ticket immediately after visiting with the children who come to see him at the Santa House in Lincoln Park. Santa will be there from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29, to Sunday, Dec. 21.
