Cops: Body found in river is missing mom

ROCKFORD -- Rockford police say a body found in the Rock River belongs to a mother of three who was reported missing several weeks ago.

Authorities say a jogger found the body of 38-year-old Chaundra Davis on the river's shore Saturday afternoon. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Police say they have not ruled out foul play.

Davis was last seen on Nov. 7 and was reported missing the next day. Her family had held a candlelight vigil and hung posters around her neighborhood asking for information about her disappearance.

She is survived by two sons, ages 19 and 13, and a 9-year-old daughter.
