Salukis to host New Hampshire in playoffs

CARBONDALE -- Southern Illinois is in the college football playoffs for the sixth year in a row.

The Salukis won a share of the Missouri Valley football conference and clinched the league's automatic postseason berth with a 17-10 overtime victory Saturday at Illinois State.

Riding a seven-game winning streak, Southern will host 10-2 New Hampshire on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The Salukis haven't lost any of their six home games this season, and they've won 16 of their past 17 at McAndrew Stadium.

New Hampshire is from the Colonial Athletic Association.
