Vet upset more don't know about WWII

Thank you for publishing Fred Wilhelm's story.

As a World War II vet, I have been amazed and disappointed at a large number of young people that know nothing about WWII; they said that it wasn't taught in school. So I have asked teachers questions about D-day, VJ day, and about 445,000 deaths, and the younger ones don't know what I'm talking about.

I pray they'll never get to experience such a conflict on our land. Didn't Audie Murphy say, "The world has never seen the battle that will happen when the American GI has to defend his own country."
