Masked man robs Huntley bank
Police are on the scene of a bank robbery on Route 47 in Huntley, near where another bank was robbed earlier this year.
McHenry Savings Bank, at 10390 South Route 47, was robbed around 4:15 p.m. by a man carrying a semi-automatic weapon, police said.
The robber left through the rear of the building, got in a silver vehicle and headed toward the neighboring Woodcreek apartments.
Police described the suspect as a short white male about 30 years old, 150 pounds and wearing a black knit cap, a black trench coat, a black mask and a gray backpack.
The nearby Castle Bank was held up March 10 when robbers made off with several thousand dollars, according to police.
A pair of teens from Hinckley are now awaiting trial in McHenry County court on charges of armed robbery and theft stemming from the holdup.
