Funeral held for teen drowning victim

Mourners are remembering one of three Chicago teenagers who drowned during a school leadership retreat last week.

Sixteen-year-old Adrian Jones, whose nickname was "Royalty," dreamed of becoming a marine biologist.

More than a thousand people attended funeral for the North Lawndale College Prep student on Friday.

Jones was remembered as an intelligent person who valued family and friends.

Last Friday, he and two other students sneaked away from a dorm at Camp Algonquin in the middle of the night and launched paddle boats into the Fox River. They did not realize the boats' floor plugs had been removed for the winter.

Funerals for 18-year-old Jimmy Avant and 17-year-old Melvin Choice Jr. will be held Saturday.
