Rams pick up first win

Balanced scoring helped Grayslake Central's girls basketball team net its first win of the season Friday night.

Alex Scarbro's 14 points and Alison Metzger's 13 led the Rams to a 60-41 win over Richmond-Burton at Marian Central in Woodstock.

Grayslake Central (1-1, 1-1) also received 11 points from Kat Dickson and 10 from Megan LeBaron.

"We finished well in the fourth quarter," Rams coach Roger Lass said.

Grayslake Central resumes the Marian Central tournament on Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. game against the host school.

Wauconda 47, Marian Central 35: At Marian Central, Lauren Mead had 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocked shots for the Bulldogs (3-0, 2-0).

Kate Martino added 15 points and 9 steals, while Kristin Brown had 5 steals.

Wauconda wraps up the tournament Tuesday with a 5 p.m. tipoff against Richmond-Burton.

Round Lake 44, CL Central 34: At Harvard, Labrenthia Murdock's 17 points paced the Panthers (2-0, 2-0). Amber Phillips scored 9 in the win.
