There are better ideas for Riverwalk

What is the best plan and use for a small, wild parcel of land of nearly seven acres adjoining the Riverwalk in Naperville? Nearly a third of the natural area at the end of Jackson Avenue is being considered for utility vehicle storage. A better use might be the construction of a simple wayside shelter that could be used as a satellite nature center with interpretive exhibits.

Minimizing development on that site would allow the upland area to remain an integral part of the small acreage. Trails and interpretive signs as have been installed in the lower area could be extended to the high ground. The community of Naperville could better be served by being able to appreciate the full, wild acreage. Jane Sindt hoped that the entire parcel of land that she sold to the park district would be available to the community. The vision of that special area did not include a storage and staging area.
