Technology can help learning

Would you rather learn by sitting and listening to a lecture or would you rather participate in an interactive lesson? Educational technology is something we need to increase in the classrooms to make learning more enjoyable. Educational technology in the classroom should be increased because it increases student achievement. In addition, it invites the students to learn. The technology will make learning more fun and easier by teaching with different methods. Mr. Dhamers, director of technology services at Glenbard West High School stated, "A lot of educational technology does help increase student achievement. Even from just 10 years ago, technology has evolved. Technology makes things easier."

Technology helps students succeed. Ms. Griffith, assistant principal for instruction at Glenbard West, said, "Technology becomes a tool students can use." Technology helps students get interested. Mr. Kelly, assistant principal for operations, stated, "Technology excites students to want to learn. Technology that gets students involved helps increase student achievement." Technology is easier to use when teaching. Mr. Medic, physics teacher, said, "Smart boards present lessons visually. Therefore, this helps increase student achievement." Students seem to work better with technology. Therefore, the next time you are sitting in class listening to a boring lecture you might want to think about how technology would increase your learning and then tell your teacher.
