One hurt in accident on Route 53 in Arlington Heights

One person was injured in an early morning accident on Route 53 at Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights, state police officials said.

The crash in the southbound lanes sent one person to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

Police and fire crews shut down the right, southbound lane while tending to the accident that occurred about 7:30 a.m. officials said. The wreckage was pulled to the side and all southbound lanes were reopened about 8 a.m.

Police officials are still investigating the accident and did not release details or the name of the injured. They said names and details would be released after the investigation is complete.
