Cary-Grove edges past Antioch: 56-52

Cary-Grove 56, Antioch 52: Down 48-34 after three quarters, the host Sequoits rallied to pull within 3 in their season opener, only to fall short.

Brittany Deem had 12 points and 7 rebounds for Antioch. Freshman Lindsey Gofron added 11 points, 9 boards and 3 steals in her high school debut, while Allie Anttila contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Cary-Grove, which is coming off a 26-4 season and is expected to be one of the top teams in the Fox Valley Conference again, was led in scoring by Tori Sandstrom with 12 points (two 3-pointers). Liz Bart added 10 (two 3s).
