Man fatally stabbed outside Bloomington tavern

BLOOMINGTON -- Police in Bloomington are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man who was stabbed outside a downtown tavern -- at least the sixth homicide in Bloomington-Normal so far this year.

Police responded late Saturday night to reports of an altercation involving a large group of people at the Six Strings Club tavern.

Emergency responders say they found Joshua Embry of Bloomington bleeding from the chest outside the club. Embry was taken to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.
