Judson women drop heartbreaker
The Judson University women's basketball team fell to host Indiana-Northwest 59-58 to fall to 1-3 on the year on Saturday. Judson was led by junior Alicia Rovertoni's 16 points and 20 rebounds for her first double-double of the year.
Judson men prevail: Judson University (3-2) was able to pick up a win over Mt. Mercy 101-75 in consolation play of the Judson Tournament as freshman Landon Skinner picked up a career-high 32 points. Josh Edwards and Dovydas Retkus also contributed adding 16 points each.
Dean does dandy: Running in her first post-season race, Judson freshman Rachael Dean ran with the best in the nation for the NCCAA (National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association) in Cedarville, Ohio. Dean finished 30th out of 139 runners. She competed against the best from the NAIA, NCCAA, and NCAA Division II and III. Dean ran a 19:43 in the 5K for a 30th place finish.
"It was a great experience for me," she said. "I had never experienced this kind of meet at the college level. This race has prepared me more for next week at the NAIA National Meet. I will try and do better there."
Dean will compete at the NAIA national meet next weekend.
