Kids know: No jobs, no money no stuff
We teach our children that if they work hard they can earn money, which will allow them to purchase stuff. A simple lesson taught through mowing neighborhood lawns, daily chores, lemonade stands, schoolwork accomplishments, and the like.
So today most children can predict that if their parent's jobs are given to workers in foreign countries, no job will mean no place to live, no food, no school supplies, no clothes, etc.
So why were Washington's finest surprised by the economic meltdown? If we set aside the mortgage debacle, our children could have predicted the outcome of allowing large corporations to ship our jobs outside our country. No jobs. No money. No stuff.
The only real cure for our recession is to bring our jobs back and to create new jobs. We need those Made-In-America labels back in our clothing and on our hard goods. Washington should learn the simple lessons our children understand and reverse the terrible legislation that pushed our economic rock over the cliff.
