Just some junk mail from the mayor
I'd like to let Elizabeth Nowak (Fence Post Nov. 12) know that she is not alone. Nowak received a letter from the Winfield mayor urging her to vote for Peter Roskam. Well, I received a similar letter from the mayor of Glendale Heights, Linda Jackson, addressed personally to me. There is nothing illegal about that. Said letter was paid for by Roskam for Congress. However, I feel it was extremely unethical for a campaign supporter like Jackson to use her office to try and sway my vote. The envelope clearly showed it was a letter from the Village of Glendale Heights, which causes people to open it thinking it is something official. In reality, it was nothing more than junk mail from our village's mayor.
