South Elgin student busted for Ecstasy

Acting on a tip, police arrested a 17-year-old South Elgin High School student Thursday, charging him withe possession of Ecstasy, according to a Friday morning bond hearing.

Cyle M. Kirchner of 1350 Umbdenstock Road, Elgin, was charged with possession of a controlled substance for possessing two Ecstasy pills, according to the hearing.

According to a court synopsis of the charges read at the hearing:

Kirchner told police he obtained the pills from a classmate the previous evening and was told to sell them. He also told police he had never used the drug.

He said he was going to give pills back to the classmate, but the police arrested him before he could do it.

South Elgin police confirmed that Kirchner had never been arrested before.

Kane County Judge Kevin Busch released him Friday morning pending a Dec. 1 hearing in Room 203 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
