Herald didn't do homework on 121
Wow, having grown up in Arlington Heights and the Daily Herald as our newspaper, I would have never expected the Daily Herald to publish rhetoric similar to what the tabloids print.
To say that Warren District 121 should live within their means is inaccurate.
It is well known on both sides of this debate that there is an issue with space. The Almond campus has the capacity to hold 1,800 students and in two years there will be close to 2,400.
Did you ever see the studies or contact anyone within the district to see if O'Plaine has the space? Obviously not, because O'Plaine is also out of room.
District 121 is asking for the basics in order to facilitate a successful learning environment. No extravagances here. They are absolutely living within their means to stay a top educational institution.
How do you think your readers in 25, 214 and 211 would feel if they were in a similar situation and you told them that they should just become a subpar school and work within their means?
Did I forget to mention that the district was prudent enough to be able to offer the taxpayer a tax rate decrease!
Perhaps you should "do your homework first" before you set out to sink a school district.
