Congrats to county board winners

My congratulations to Grant Eckhoff and Debra Olson, the two winners in the election for DuPage County Board in District 4. The voters have spoken and I wish them the best of luck.

I want to thank the Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters who cast approximately 27,000 votes on my behalf for the same race. That number of votes would have been impossible without the help of many volunteers who displayed signs, mailed fliers, wrote letters, distributed pamphlets, sent e-mails, managed the Web site, talked to neighbors and hosted coffees. The precinct committee persons and officers of the Democratic Party are a terrific team and I owe them more than I can ever repay.

Dan Bailey, my fellow Democratic Party candidate, expended time and energy so we could provide the voters with a choice. Thanks, Dan, for your efforts.

Let us all support the county board as they move forward to find ways to improve the county government and the services it provides.
