'Stitches & Stories'

Local quilters present an array of contemporary quilts in the "Stitches & Stories: Quilts From the Elmhurst Piecemakers" exhibit at the Elmhurst Historical Museum. The quiltmakers hope to tell stories through the patterns and fabrics of the quilts.

The newest collection of quilts goes on display on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Elmhurst Historical Museum, 120 E. Park Ave., Elmhurst. Exhibit hours run from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays through Jan. 4. Admission is free. (630) 833-1457 or elmhursthistory.org.

Bottles and tap knobs and coasters, oh my!

The Chicagoland Breweriana Society hosts its Fall Breweriana Show, featuring a display and sale of beer cans, bottles, glasses, coasters, tap knobs, light-up signs and microbrewery items.

'Treasure Island'

Joe the drummer

Los Angeles-based drummer Joe La Barbera joins the College of Lake County's Monday Night Jazz Ensemble and the CLC Faculty Jazz Sextet in a Sunday afternoon concert. La Barbera has toured the world with jazz performers including singer Tony Bennett and pianist Bill Evans.

Native Americans in film

John N. Low, a member of the Pokagon band of Potawatomi Indians, presents an illustrated talk titled "Native Americans in Film." Low will discuss and show still images from films from the silent movie era to films of the present.
