Cops release photos of Arlington Heights bank robber
Arlington Heights police have released photographs of a man who tried to rob a bank but fled the scene without any money last week.
The man entered the Ben Franklin Bank, 830 E. Kensington Road, at around 4 p.m. on Nov. 5. He then pointed a handgun at a teller and demanded money. The man became nervous and fled the bank when the teller told him she had no money, according to police.
He was last seen on foot heading toward Kensington Road and Beverly Avenue. Witnesses said the white man weighed about 180 pounds and was between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray shirt, tan pants, white gym shoes and was carrying a black messenger bag, police said.
