Huntley shelter to host holiday fundraiser
Animal House Shelter in Huntley will hold a special Holiday Fundraiser Dec. 4 at Chandler's Chophouse Grille at 401 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on Web site animalhouseshelter.com for $25 or bought at the door for $30.
Admission includes hors d'oeuvres, coffee bar, chocolate fountain, sweets table, cash bar with specialty drink options, and hourly raffles. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Animal House Shelter and benefit the animals. It is the holiday season for our furry friends, too!
With Chicago designated as one of the worst dog-fighting cities in the country by the Humane Society, puppy mill shake-ups throughout surrounding states and the recent catastrophic floods in the Midwest, Animal House Shelter is in dramatic need of funding. The shelter relies solely on private donations, and the staff has seen the number of animals needing rescue increase over the last year while an economic downturn has decreased charitable donations.
Animal House Shelter in Huntley is a not-for-profit, no-kill animal shelter housing approximately 200 dogs and 100 cats, since 2002. Since opening, almost 7,000 abused or neglected dogs and cats have been rescued, rehabilitated and placed in loving homes annually.
All dogs are neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, current on all vaccines, including rabies, dewormed and on Heartgard Plus and Frontline Plus every month to prevent fleas, ticks and heartworm.
Animal House Shelter is a 501(c)3 organization which relies on donations to save all the lives they do.
Even if people cannot attend the fundraiser, they can still help by purchasing raffle tickets at the Web site, animalhouseshelter.com. Donors can click any Donate Now link and specify that they are participating in the Holiday Raffle. Donations must be at least $5 for the raffle and ticket holders don't have to be present to win.
