Woods: Father would've cried

Tiger Woods said his late father, Earl, "would've cried" at the election of Barack Obama as U.S. president.

Woods, the world's top-ranked golfer whose father was black and mother is Asian, said in an interview with CNBC that Obama's election is "absolutely incredible. He represents America."

"He's multiracial, and I was hoping it would happen in my lifetime," Woods said in the interview, a transcript of which was provided by the network. "My father was hoping it would happen in his lifetime. He didn't get to see it, but I'm lucky enough to see a person of color in the White House."
