Other side to 'other moral options'

Some of us older readers may remember radio sage Alan J. Anthony who used to say in effect, "I have learned . . . that there are two sides to every issue." I would respectfully respond to Roy W Mashek's "Other Moral Options to Consider."

Yes, there are other options to abortion, but effectively not for some people. What would he say to 13 year-old girl in a Chicago ghetto, who when mom was not home, was raped by the man who came to see mom? What choice is given to her? Or bringing it into the suburbs, what choice would a 45 year-old woman have when molested one night coming home from work? Mr. Mashek is right that "Abortion is not the only way to react to a pregnancy." But the 13 year-old and the 45 year old ought to, in the view of many, have the right to choose.
