Amtrak train kills pedestrian in Cook Co.
An Amtrak train has struck and killed a pedestrian at a rail station in Edgebrook.
Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero said the train was en route Saturday from Milwaukee when it hit a person on the tracks about 11 miles outside of Chicago. She referred to the person as a "trespasser."
The collision occurred at about 6:50 p.m.
The train was standing while emergency crews worked outside. There were no injuries on board.
A spokesman for the suburban rail service Metra says the Milwaukee District North Line will be delayed until the tracks are cleared.
