Christkindlmarket runs in Oak Brook

OAK BROOK - Christkindlmarket has reopened at Oakbrook Center and will run through Sunday, Nov. 16. Following a 500-year-old German tradition the outdoor center is partnering with the German American Chamber of Commerce of Midwest, the organizers of the popular Christkindlmarket Chicago. The local event mimics Nuremberg, Germany's centuries-old markets. Traditional huts feature artisans from Germany and Europe selling Christmas items including hand-carved nutcrackers, glass-blown ornaments, cuckoo-clocks, beer steins, European chocolates, toys, lace table linens and more.
