Mayfair: Options, amenities highlight new Naperville community
Six decorated models provide a visual feast for visitors to Mayfair, a new community of 172 townhouses and courthouses in a prime Naperville location.
Mayfair by Kimball Hill Homes offers four courthouse and five townhouse designs with two to three bedrooms, 11/2 to 21/2 baths and attached two-car garages. Community amenities include walking trails, a putting green, bocce ball courts and horseshoe pits, as well as a common park with community grills.
"As the models at Mayfair feature a number of new and exciting options that we haven't offered before, we couldn't wait to showcase a sampling of the design possibilities available at this community," said Jack Wexelberg, regional president of Kimball Hill Homes. "For example, buyers at Mayfair can personalize their home with everything from morning kitchens, built-in tech centers and lower-level wet bars to special touches like second-floor fireplaces and window seats."
Located near the northeast corner of Route 59 and Audrey Lane between 75th Street and Ogden Avenue, Mayfair is just off Naperville's bustling Route 59 corridor and within walking distance of shopping at Whole Foods and Cost Plus World Market.
Model interiors are furnished and decorated by Sharon Williams and David Kieta of S.L. Williams Interiors in Chicago.
The Blakemore townhouse model is priced from $293,990 and features 1,985 square feet, two bedrooms and 21/2 baths. It has a first-floor master, which is especially appealing to empty-nesters. With a West Indies-inspired interior and a light sage, rust and cream color scheme, this model home evokes a more casual lifestyle.
Exotic tropical plants and prints of tropical birds and greenery enhance the island ambience throughout the home. As you look up from the two-story foyer, a dazzling display on the upper plant shelf elicits a "wow" response, while straight ahead the family room and outdoors come into view.
The dining room features a glass-topped table paired with leather bench-style seating, as an enclave embraces a credenza with mirror. In the family room, a sofa and two chairs offer a warm spot around the fireplace.
Beyond a half wall off the foyer, the kitchen features white appliances, wood cabinetry, pantry and a counter with a sink and overhang that doubles as a breakfast bar. A round table set for four occupies the breakfast area.
Tucked in a private corner, the owners' suite shows dark wood furnishings, matching spread and draperies, lighted art niche and walk-in closet. The adjoining bath features two sinks, tub, walk-in shower with clear glass door and a private commode that is adorned with artwork.
The upstairs loft is outfitted with a fireplace with wood mantle, plasma TV, a woven chair and sage sectional. This space could well serve as a game room.
Secondary bedrooms include a guest room with volume ceiling, walk-in closet and access to the full hall bath. Another bedroom is set up as a home office with computer station, plenty of cabinets and bookshelves.
The Chesterfield townhouse model, priced from $298,990, features 2,180 square feet, two bedrooms and 21/2 baths. With a more formal, sophisticated interior done in champagne and soft creams, this design is perfect for elegant entertaining. Also, the design is well-suited for downsizers moving from a single-family home with fine furnishings, artwork or antiques they want to bring with them.
An inviting foyer leads to a gathering room set off by arched doorways and crown molding where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks with soothing music from the grand piano. The gathering room opens to the family room, dining area and kitchen for a smooth traffic flow.
With a mirrored wall in the dining area, a spacious feeling prevails throughout most of the first floor. A fireplace is the focal point in the family room where luxurious furnishings include a cut velvet chair. And the kitchen features a center prep island, stainless steel appliances, pantry and ceramic tile flooring.
The master suite shows triple windows along one of the walls, dark wood furnishings and sumptuous cream bedspread and pillows. A desk and chair occupy a spot within the suite for working on the household budget. And a comfortable sitting area with fireplace and two chairs is a good place to wind down before retiring. The private bath features two sinks, tub, and walk-in shower with clear glass door.
The secondary bedroom is outfitted as a guest suite done in cream and teal and furnished with a love seat and chair with private access to a full bath. The loft area is outfitted with two chairs and a plasma TV. A laundry room with sink and cabinets also occupies this floor.
