Katt Williams arrested on weapons charges
NEW YORK -- Comedian Katt Williams has pleaded not guilty to weapons charges. New York City police say they found three handguns in the car after pulling him over for driving without license plates.
The 35-year-old performer was released on bail Thursday in time to make it for his show at Carnegie Hall. He told the audience that he "just got out of jail."
His attorney, Charles Ross, said Friday that he will "vigorously defend against these charges." He says "the district attorney has no case" and "cannot prove" Williams possessed any weapons.
Williams is best known for his role in the movie "Friday After Next" and rap videos. He's also the voice of "A Pimp Named Slickback" in "The Boondocks" animated television series.
