1 dead, 2 wounded in west side Aurora shooting

Aurora police are investigating an early evening shooting that left one man dead and two others wounded on the near west side of town.

Police are not releasing any information about the victims, saying they have several people in custody to determine their role in the deadly shooting.

The shooting occurred about 5 p.m. at a residence on the 200 block of North Chestnut Street.

Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the injured men were taken to area hospitals where they are being treated for their wounds. The shooting appears to be gang- or drug-related, Ferrelli added.
