Diaz rings it up for Merc
With six Top 10 finishes on the LPGA Tour this season, pro golfer Laura Diaz was honored Monday as the Chicago Mercantile Exchanged allowed her to ring the opening bell on the trading floor.
Diaz, who is expected to make the 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup team when it plays the European squad next August at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, has earned more than $790,000 on the LPGA Tour this season. which has put her over the $4 million mark in career earnings. Last month at a tournament in China, she posted a career-low 63 and finished third overall in collecting $124,711.
