Reputed gang member acquitted in slaying

A Cook County jury has acquitted a reputed gang member in the 2001 slaying of a 4-year-old boy.

Terrence Ligon had been charged in the shooting of Robert Anderson. The boy was shot to death as he played outside his home on Chicago's South Side.

Monday's verdict of not guilty follows a mistrial of the 33-year-old Ligon. In April, Judge Evelyn clay ruled a mistrial when someone reportedly tried to photograph jurors outside the courthouse with a cell phone.

During the trial, Ligon's attorneys argued there were at least two people shooting in the area where the boy was killed.
