Bradley tops Lewis, 74-61

PEORIA - Turnovers proved to be costly for the Lewis University men's basketball team Monday night as the Flyers turned the ball over 18 times in dropping a 74-61 exhibition game to the Bradley Braves at Carver Arena.

Lewis senior forward Jason Genova led the Flyers with 20 points, including five three-pointers in the loss. Senior guard Brandon Dagans added a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Bradley sophomore guard Sam Mariscalco led the Braves with 18 points, while teammate Theron Wilson posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Braves' center David Collins had 10 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots in the win.

The Flyers made a late run in the second half, led by Dagans and Genova as the duo combined for 25 of Lewis' 35 points in the final stanza, cutting a 15-point Bradley lead to three, before the Braves pulled away.

Lewis is back in action on Friday as the Flyers travel to Chicago to square off against DePaul at 7 p.m.
