Who's helping whom in Congress?
The Daily Herald asks the question "What have you done for me?" with respect to the candidates. But Judy Biggert has not done anything for us. What she has done in Congress has been mostly for her own benefit. She has taken seven pay raises for herself but voted against health care for our children and veterans. The Herald claims that Judy is a moderate who works across the aisle in a bipartisan manner. She has voted over 80 percent of the time with the Bush Administration. She has voted 90 percent of the time with the Republican Party. A true bipartisan would vote the issue, not the party line. The Herald misrepresents Judy Biggert just as badly as she has represented this district. She is a perfect representative of the Bush Administration but a bad representative for us. If that is not a compelling argument for change this year, what is? Scott Harper will represent the voters on the issues to bring the change we so badly need in Washington.
