Mailers misleading on abortion issue

Personal PAC has mailed area voters information based on a blatant lie, appealing to emotions rather than reason or truth. Many Lake County voters received this PAC mailing portraying candidates who support efforts to protect unborn children as less than honorable, indicating that these candidates want to put Illinois women behind bars by criminalizing abortion. No quotes, legislation, or votes were offered to verify these allegations. Never has legislation been proposed or supported by anti-abortion organizations that would send a woman to jail for an abortion. And never have we asked our legislators to do so. When legal protection is returned to the defenseless unborn, only those who promote and perform abortions will be criminally penalized. We believe that women and babies are both victims in an abortion.
