Ceckowski has great record, experience
I have had the privilege of learning about the judicial races on this election cycle's ballot for the first time in my life. Judge races are at the back page of the ballot and, because I never knew any judges, I didn't feel qualified to vote. I will be privileged to vote on Nov. 4 in the Second Subcircuit judicial race because now I have information about a great candidate.
The Second Judicial Subcircuit for Lake County includes Gurnee, part of Libertyville and North Chicago and a portion of Lake Bluff. The race there is an important one, where our vote will affect the quality of the judiciary. Judge Valerie Boettle Ceckowski offers an outstanding choice for the people of this county. Judge Ceckowski has been on the bench for over 10 years and has a sterling reputation for judicial independence, impartiality and intelligence.
Val is widely recognized for her leadership and community involvement, as well. For example, Judge Val was the 2008 Gurnee Days Honoree and the 2008 United Way of Lake County "Be Bold" Award winner. She is a founding member of the Gurnee Breakfast Exchange Club, the 1996 Exchangite of the Year a past president of the service organization and the winner of the 1993 National Distinguished Exchange Club President Award. Born and raised in the Second Subcircuit, Judge Ceckowski was the Distinguished Alumna of the Year for Warren Township High School in 2000. I have omitted many of her awards and honors for the sake of brevity, but voters will see the pattern of distinction, service and leadership.
Judge Ceckowski is currently the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court of Lake County, as well as the Presiding Judge for Probate and Arbitration Court. She has extensive experience serving as a judge in both criminal felony and civil courtrooms. Judge Valerie Boettle Ceckowski is truly an outstanding person and judge who deserves your vote on Nov. 4.
