Longtime business owner honored

LONG GROVE - Longtime Long Grove business owner Mel Towner was honored for his 50th anniversary as owner and proprietor of Mel's Marathon Mini Mart, 209 Robert Parker Coffin Road. Towner and his sons Randy and Wendell offer oil changes, tire services, towing, gasoline and convenience items. Towner owns a number of buildings in Long Grove Historic village, including the white Victorian building he lived in for a number of years and which now houses Timmy's Sandwiches & Ice Cream Shop.
