Obama won't make a good CEO of nation
Very seldom does the Daily Herald ask for comments on their editorials, but their endorsement of Barack Obama opened that door very wide. It may indicate their endorsement (was) so politically biased and questionable they may want to reconsider and reverse their endorsement, if enough citizens express their opposition.
The small print at the top of the Opinion page says: "Our aim: To Fear God, tell the truth and make money," by H.C. Paddock 1852-1935. Old time owners and editors tried to not print anything that was not a verifiable truth, because printed words that are a lie will haunt you all your life.
Let's say you were the CEO of your own private company. You have 50 employees, do about $30-$35 million a year in sales, and your board of directors (voters) was looking for a new President and CEO. If Barack Obama submitted his resume, he would not even make the bottom of the qualified candidates list. If the president's position also included being "Commander in Chief" of the company's own private military and the candidate stated on his application that he had absolutely no military training, no military experience of any kind and he totally opposed the basic and historical purpose of a military, he should not even be considered.
Some of the greatest Presidents were some of our greatest military leaders first - George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Jack Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush to name a few. Most of the other past Presidents had serious military training and actual war time experiences. There is a wisdom gained in combat, wherein you are being shot at by an enemy who has every intention of killing you. I had those experiences at Iwo Jima and Okinawa, with 72 combat missions off a Jeep Carrier and several kamikaze attacks on our carrier.
Back to H.C. Paddock. He put making money at the end of his motto so I take that to be the very least of his values and that money should never be the guiding factor in the first two.
