Candidates should stick to truth in campaigns
As long time residents of the 53rd District we are proud to call Sid Mathias our state representative. Sid embodies all that is good about public service.
Everyone is entitled to frame their own opinions about the candidates. Those opinions, however, should be based on the facts. It is bad enough that candidates for national and statewide office regularly stoop to spreading endless falsehoods and smear tactics to win at any cost. When these tactics find their way into local and community politics, it is time to tell these politicians "enough."
We need to send a message to politicians like Carol Javens that the residents of the 53rd District are not fooled by expensive negative campaigning.
