Oberweis votes with people of 14th

On Friday, Oct. 10, I attended a senatorial debate at Sun City, Huntley. Congressman Bill Foster reported receiving hundreds of phone calls from constituents regarding the federal financial bailout/rescue. He said the callers expressing their positions were split 50/50. "Fifty percent said no and fifty percent said 'Hell no,'" he said.

He then chuckled and stated that he voted for it.

Apparently representing the wishes of the citizens of the 14th District is not part of his job description. His opponent at the forum was Jim Oberweis. He had copies of the original three page and amended 450 page bailout documents. He indicated that he agreed with the people of the 14th District and would not have voted for this bill. He stated: "This is a bad bill and does nothing to solve this crisis."

I urge all voters to support Jim Oberweis and elect the man who will represent us and not the fat cats in Washington and on Wall Street.
