Attack charges dropped against Ill. teacher
BLOOMINGTON -- Aggravated battery and aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges filed against a man in connection with an attack on a teenager have been dismissed.
McLean County prosecutors Wednesday dropped the charges against James C. Love of Bloomington, a former substitute teacher. The 37-year-old Love faces time in federal prison.
The state and federal charges against Love stem from an incident at his home in the spring of 2007, according to charges. The victims told police that during an overnight stay they were sedated and sexually abused.
The federal charges against Love involved images police found on his home computer.
In a plea agreement, Love will serve 20 years in federal prison and assist law enforcement in identifying persons in photographs. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 23 in federal court in Peoria.
