Time for a change in the 8th district
As our nation is faced with increasingly urgent matters that require wise decisions by Congress for their resolution, the coming election takes on an unusual level of importance. Congressional foolishness, that has resulted in our current financial crisis, needs to be addressed by us voters.
The financial crisis dominates the news, but the cost of energy - notably the cost of gasoline - has not been resolved and is waiting in the wings. When it returns to the stage, we need Congress to act in our best interests, not with more foolishness.
We are spending unreported millions-perhaps billions-researching and subsidizing alternate energy sources. We have at least one national laboratory dedicated to this research. One thing is clear: alternatives to fossil fuel are a) more expensive, or b) less convenient, or c) both. Any attempt to rely on alternatives at this time will be incredibly costly and disappointing-in a word, foolish.
Let's continue to research the alternatives at the present level of spending, while we remove the legal barriers to the development of our petroleum reserves. The oil companies will get right to work, do it at their own expense, and even pay us for the privilege.
It is foolish to spend tax dollars to solve problems that can be better solved at no expense.
We won't get wisdom from Democrats in Congress, so let's replace them, starting right here in Illinois' 8th District. Please join me in voting for Steve Greenberg for Congress.
