Not all bad to help less fortunate

I am getting a little tired of hearing about "socialism" and "spreading the wealth around."

We are all created with equal rights, but we are not all created equal. Many of us do not possess the intelligence and physical attributes of those who have been able to accumulate a certain amount of wealth.

Is it really so difficult to afford those less fortunate a little help? I do agree that helping too much may enable some to not use what gifts the good Lord has given them, but, come on people, some help for the downtrodden and less fortunate, especially during these troubled economic times, cannot be all that bad.

When the situation improves, we can back off, but there will always be those who need some help. In my opinion, if this be socialism, then so be it.
