State Con-Con is not a risk worth taking
I'm practicing democracy by choosing to keep the current Illinois constitution, which prohibits employment and housing discrimination, safeguards against hate crimes, prohibits sex discrimination and discrimination against the disabled, provides for religious freedom, limits the income tax, just to name a few.
I'm not willing to jeopardize the rights protected by the current constitution. Individual issues can be addressed through the regular amendment process.
I hope that every Illinoisan will consider whether it is risk-worthy to spend taxpayers' money on a convention, which will potentially reflect the state's dysfunctional political landscape and cause even more frustration among the voters.
