Munson has brought much to her district
At a time in our country where we as citizens are finding it more difficult than ever to "sort out the bad guys," I am disappointed to read that anyone could find priority in changing that which has been good. We cannot allow our frustrations and fear to overwhelm us so much that we vote for change just for the sake of change. As my "gram" used to say, "Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water."
State Rep. Ruth Munson has closely worked with our veterans organizations in representing their needs. Not only working to identify and introduce new legislation, but doing the job of ensuring needed programs remain intact and are only modified when the impact of such a change has been truly looked upon.
Have we overlooked the fact that under our governor's watchful eye, more than $6 million has been redirected from veterans programs? And what will the impact be if we don't continue having a seasoned well-respected, results-driven state representative such as Ruth Munson in the 43rd District?
State Rep. Munson has been responsible for funding and/or supporting many initiatives in the 43rd District including funding for Senior Services Associates Senior Companion Program; "Support the Troops" with Operation Holiday Shop; troop care packages; grants in support of the Community Crisis Center; grants in support of PADS; her "coffee and conversation" forums; Health, Wellness & Safety fairs for both our senior population and our youth; the Veterans Job Fair being held Nov. 5-8; a state grant help for the construction of the new Veterans Memorial Park; legislation for the "Ride In Kane" transportation program; Interstate 31 resurfacing; her service as an advocate to seniors within Willow Lakes Estates; and legislation to tighten Internet security; support of small business owners and support to local neighborhood groups. The list goes on.
In my 25 years as an Elgin resident, I have yet to meet a person who has done so much for so many.
