Yorkville man charged with abusing baby

A 23-year-old Yorkville man has been charged with predatory sexual assault of his 15-month old stepchild after he and the mother brought the child to a hospital complaining the child was injured, police officials said Monday.

Kyle W. Zaricor, of the 600 block of McHugh Road in Yorkville, has been charged with two felony counts of predatory sexual assault, officials said.

The mother of the child, Karen E. Zaricor, 20, also living in the 600 block of McHugh Road, has been arrested on an outstanding Illinois warrant, officials said.

The child was taken into protective custody by the Department of Children and Family Services after the child was brought to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Hospital officials contacted the sheriff's office and DCFS after examining the child.

Kendall County Judge Timothy McCann set bond for Kyle Zaricor at $500,000 Monday.
