Candidates must show leadership
In this current economic crisis, the American people aren't getting any leadership with the current administration. They have stated the obvious: fear is to blame. The news media undercuts any confidence with Depression era headlines and comparisons.
The time we live in is very different, our government statutes are different, the government anticipation and response has been very different from the Hoover Depression.
We need leadership that can contrast the eras. Yes, hard times are here, but light needs to be seen at the end of the tunnel. Make it similar to a call to arms. What can we do to make a difference? Tell us to get mad and say no to the sell-off. Assert and maintain a campaign for confidence.
America has been weakened terribly by eight years of disastrous leadership, but her people are still strong and have the fortitude to persevere. True leadership will remind the citizens of this country who they are and what they are made of. Awaken pride, patriotism, showcase the best of what we are. Paint a picture of a sure future that by acting we can and will realize. Demonstrate proactive policies rather than reactive.
The next leader of our country needs to be capable of this kind of leadership. I am impatiently waiting for one of our presidential candidates to show America they posses this quality to lead in the face of this economic adversity.
