Three-car crash closes Higgins in Elk Grove area

Police and rescue officials were on the scene of an accident on Higgins Road near Route 53 early Thursday morning.

The accident, which took place at about 8 a.m. just outside of Elk Grove Village, blocked the westbound lane of Higgins for about an hour before the incident was cleared.

Three cars were involved in the incident.

Officials said the incident remains under investigation but that no information was available until the investigation is completed.
